\n\tBuilding the Power of LuckTo build one’s power of luck, we need to learn about the three elements of fate in Asian philosophy of reading one’s life and apply them to our everyday life. It comes from the philosophy called Myung-ri-hak(\u547d\u7406\u5b78 literally meaning the study of destiny and its way of operation), and explains the heaven(\u5929), the earth(\u5730), and the man(\u4eba) as the three elements.<\/p>\n
The first element, the heaven or sky, is related to the notion of time, and in Myung-ri studies, it refers to the state of one’s luck.<\/strong>\u00a0That is, it is the telling of one’s fortune, if it is good or bad. There are two categories: the Decade of Luck(\u5927\u904b) which changes luck every ten years, and the Year of Luck(\u6b72\u904b) which is yearly luck. An analogy to a car would give you an idea what the Decade of Luck is. It is an assessment of the state you are in whether you are currently running on a paved or unpaved road, and if on a paved road, then whether you are on a highway, or if you should be stopping from time to time whenever there is a red light. The Year of Luck is more about whether you would have any minor accidents on the road, or if there are traffic jams or not. Through both of these tellings, you could finally decide if you have good or bad luck.<\/p>\n Also, there is a way to assess my luck on a daily basis. There are times when endless obstacles seem to come your way and things don’t seem to work out. At such times, it is better to stop whatever you were doing for a while and wait until things look more favorable for you. On the contrary, if there are many people who are helping you or things seem to be spot on at the right timing, you could try to make the most of it and go ahead with your plans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<\/section>\n The second element is the earth, signifying the space of luck, and it often refers to Fengshui.<\/strong>\u00a0There is an old saying that humans build houses but it is the house that makes the man; people and the space influence each other. It is important to choose the right house and to make it wholesome while you live in it. The first Fengshui practice we can apply to our daily life is ‘to discard and empty.’ In order to create a house with growing good fortune, you need to throw away what you don’t use anymore, and to arrange the remaining things so that the space is assured with good sunlight and ventilation. This practice makes the space lively which is important to your luck.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<\/section>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<\/section>\n\t❝ The final element is the human, that is, oneself. To build the power of luck, you need to know what your innate character is, your disposition and propensity.<\/strong><\/p>\n In a sense, fate is the making of a consistent flow in a given context, while making use of one’s innate character and disposition when reacting to lifetime events and choosing among different paths. There are ten types of dispositions according to Myung-ri studies, and depending on which of the characters you have, and which is stronger than the other, your tendency would differ. Therefore, if you understand your own tendency well enough, it would help to complement your shortcomings and further develop your strength.<\/p>\n Everybody at some point in their lives would go through a helpless moment when there is nothing else to do than just wait for time to pass. All the more at such times, you should recognize exactly what your nature and disposition is, aim at gaining happiness of your inner being, and wait to seize the right moment. It is important to learn when to stop and when to proceed. If you take good care of your space and make it lively and wholesome, good luck would pile up little by little, building your power of luck.
