Meaning \u201cgoose made of wood\u201d, Korean people believed that once a male and female geese formed a bond, they would not meet another mate for the rest of their lives, and would stay together until death does them part. The groom would take the mokahn to the bride\u2019s home, and the individual who carries the mokahn is called the <em>gireuk abi<\/em>, or \u201cgoose holder\u201d.
