ABOUT THE ART

5C GAYA 가야시대 토기
Gaya earthenware refers to earthenware excavated from the western part of the Nakdonggang River, i.e. the western half of Gyeongsangnam-do. Gaya earthenware was excavated in large quantities from Gaya ruins centered on Gimhae in Garakguk and Goryung of Daegaya. Gaya earthenware is somewhat different from Silla earthenware in terms of selection of soil and sense of expression. Gaya earthenware is more ancient than Silla earthenware. It is less decorative than Silla earthenware and has developed a variety of features to show the unique characteristics of Gaya earthenware. These types of Gaya earthenware also vary widely, giving a glimpse of the outstanding creativity and wisdom of the Gaya people.
